The architecture followed the principle of preserving the entire structure of the building, floors, walls, ceilings, doors and windows with their unique formal and tectonic characteristics, and integrating small, unpretentious and abstract white boxes that house the new elements of the program, such as kitchens and bathrooms, formally defining the existing and the new.
The result is nine purged apartments, where light plays a fundamental role in the design of the space. The shape of the building made it possible to create an attic apartment on the first floor, and to design different typologies through the use of mezzanines and outdoor spaces.

Santa Teresa is a street located in the heart of Porto's reborn center, a large urban area that has slowly been abandoned and aged, and which has undergone radical social, cultural, economic and, consequently, architectural change over the last fifteen years.
Alongside its rich history, Porto offers a stunning architecture and captivating views. It combines tradition and modernity, offering a vibrant cultural scene with museums, art galleries and theaters. Its historic center, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is highlighted by the Ribeira, with its colorful houses on the banks of the Douro River, and by the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge, which connects the city to Vila Nova de Gaia.
